Dick Foster
Richard Foster is a self-taught artist who recently celebrated his 95th birthday. He worked a total of 68 years in industrial research until his retirement in 1993, twenty-seven of those years were spent consulting. When computers came into vogue, Richard jumped on the bandwagon. He taught himself Photoshop and other programs to modify photos. In 2000 Corel Corp. developed Corel Painter which he used to teach himself to paint, along with books an videos by Karen Sterling and several other artists. Richard states, “I still do not consider myself an artist, but I do have fun playing creating my attempt at art. I have been surprised that some people even like the paintings and in many cases buy them. My friends and family have a few walls covered with my paintings.”
