CHELSEA SANTOS FRIBERG

Mrs. Friberg headshot.jpeg

Chelsea Santos Friberg is a visual and performing artist with a passion for creating art that reflects both her internal and external experiences. Chelsea not only creates gestural drawings and paintings inspired by her photographs and imagination, but she also writes and performs music around Southeastern Massachusetts. Her writing, music, and artwork have always been very interconnected, and often influence one another. In addition to working as a visual and performing artist, Chelsea finds joy working as a public-school elementary art teacher for the Westwood Public Schools. When Chelsea isn't creating or teaching, she enjoys being outside in nature and going birding with her husband.

Over the past few years, Chelsea has exhibited and sold her original artworks through her online ChelseaMorningArt Etsy shop, and at in-person events as a member of the Norwood Art Association. She has also participated in several virtual and in-person art shows including ARTivism Initiative’s This is a Movement Not a Moment, The Frank Juarez Gallery’s Capturing Everyday: De/constructing the Narrative, and most recently was featured as the "Guest Artist of the Month" at the Elizabeth Taber Library in Marion, MA. She feels that it is her responsibility as an art activist and educator to continue making and sharing artwork that might help create positive changes within her community.
